<\/div>[vc_column_text]An electrician by trade, Dany Jacques had long dreamed of returning to the land.<\/p>\n

In 1999, Dany and his wife Maryse Lamothe bought a piece of land in Richmond, planning to settle there in the future.<\/p>\n

Finally, in 2011, they left Sherbrooke to move into their new home, built on the farm. For several years now, Dany has been doing research on organic and eco-responsible agriculture. He soon became interested in garlic and all its aspects. Finally, Dany and Maryse took the plunge and started their garlic plantation in 2015. MaryDan Farm was born.<\/p>\n

What started out as a very small production, triples in volume within three years. The couple eventually introduced squash into their fields to apply the principle of crop rotation. This is a must in organic agriculture, as it preserves the fertility and resilience of the soil.<\/p>\n

Since then, several improvements have been made to the farm. Dany, Maryse and their son Simon have acquired additional machinery and built a warehouse with refrigeration and drying rooms to ensure a more constant supply of produce throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Committed to producing organic and local vegetables with the utmost respect for the environment, the family business MaryDan Farm also applies the permanent bed technique, a no-till method of cultivating the soil to improve its physical and organic properties.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner]\r\n\t
